MissM

Jane.jpg (2410 bytes)Hi, my name is Jane, aka MissM. This has been translated to mean various things . . . MissManners and MissMicrosoft being the most popular. The real story . . . when I went to the University of Colorado, Boulder, I was the only "southern belle", so I got the nickname Miss Magnolia.

I really enjoy Prober ;) and trivia. Hally is the one responsible for me being here, so blame her! About me, I was born and raised in Kentucky, the home of Beautiful horses and fast women, or is it the other way around? I forget. Been away from there for over 15 years. Now I live in North Carolina, working as a computer consultant, and volunteer in tech support.

How did I get here? That's a long story, and I've got a couple hundred words to go. It started on a dark and stormy night; I worked at various fast food restaurants as a young lass and ended up delivering pizzas at Domino's Pizza. I ended up franchising, in St. Charles, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Yes, I can toss the dough, with the best of them, and I could make a large pepperoni pizza in less than 30 seconds. The store was very successful and after a couple of years, I sold it and was out of the fast food business, looking for my next career.

I moved to North Carolina, went to school and discovered "I are an engineer!" I figured out the "how" and the "why" of how everything works. I LUV THAT!

As a result of my degrees, I ended up working for a German textile machinery manufacturer but the textile business is cyclical and I was laid off in 99. Since then, I've been doing various computer related tasks, including wiring up networks, setting up phone systems, upgrading hardware and software for my various clients....

My volunteer work in IRC tech support, on the MSN network and Dalnet is very satisfying, helping people find the solutions to their computer problems and seeing a light bulb go off, over their head is very rewarding.

Personally, I have 2 boys, Chris and Sean, who are 8 and 6. They are a delight and a challenge, and my raison d’ętre.
